General Information
The Rolling Stone Culture Council is an exclusive community of tastemakers, influencers, and innovators in the worlds of music, entertainment, fashion, hospitality, food, beverage and cannabis.
We take a bespoke approach to community building rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. We carefully consider what members need at every level and provide one-on-one attention to create a highly exclusive network with personalized connections.
We evaluate areas of expertise, years of experience, and several other factors to get the best mix of diversity in our community while maintaining an exclusive environment. This creates a personally and professionally fulfilling experience for all members.
Our members represent companies of various sizes and stages of growth. We find this diversity makes for high quality content and connections.
We are purposely growing the community to focus on the quality and experience of each member.
Ultimately, it’s the quality of connections that makes a difference in each person’s life and career. It only takes one good connection to change the course of your career, and it’s our goal to provide you with the very best.
We designed membership in the Rolling Stone Culture Council to help you build brand awareness and thought leadership without becoming a time sink.
However, the community thrives on interaction and member input. We’d love to see you invest as much into it as you hope to get out of it.
Members love to use our brand awareness opportunities and member concierge services to grow their brand and build greater visibility.
Networking
Yes. To keep our communities non-promotional, we protect everyone’s direct contact information. You can tag fellow members in the community, explore the network through the directory, or connect directly on our platform.
Our member directory allows you to view all members of the community. On our platform, you can message members directly to establish connections.
You can also create posts on our platform looking for specific connections. For example, many of our members utilize this feature when looking to attend a conference or event.
Publishing
Members can contribute two kinds of articles: bylines and Expert Panels®.
In bylined articles, our members draw from their own unique experiences and share expert advice and commentary on various industries.
Members work directly with our professional editorial staff to refine and edit their articles to ensure each meets our standards. Articles go live on rollingstone.com and include the author’s headshot, byline, and a link to their organization.
Expert Panels are a quick and easy way for members to contribute advice for readers of rollingstone.com. Through our proprietary system, members can explore and answer questions about business, innovation, and leadership. They contribute short quotes with their best tips and advice.
Our editors curate the best answers for publication. Expert Panels typically feature six to 15 members who are leading experts on a given topic. This article format is a great way for even the busiest member to get published.
Our editorial team can turn your ideas into top-level thought leadership pieces. We’ve edited and published thousands of articles, and we’re here to help!
For our busy members, we recommend participating in Expert Panels®.
Yes. The Rolling Stone Culture Council channel and member content are promoted on the RollingStone.com home page and on article pages throughout the website.
Your readers do NOT need to be Rolling Stone subscribers to read the articles.
On the RollingStone.com home page, click the button that says, “Culture Council” to see all the articles that have been published.
We work entirely separate from the Rolling Stone newsroom. Editorial contributorship occurs at their sole discretion, and we have no control over that.
However, if you follow our guidelines, you’ll have access to a consistent channel where you can post thought leadership articles with your byline.
