About
Derek Stonebarger is an Emmy® Award-winning television producer, an international award-winning filmmaker, a small business owner, community activist and serial entrepreneur living in Downtown Las Vegas. As the former Arts District Board President, Derek is often credited as a pioneer of the area with recent acceleration attributed to his marketing efforts and his popular community-based taverns; ReBAR and Davy’s on Main Street in Downtown Las Vegas. During the 2020 Covid Shutdown - Derek helped to create, promote, categorize and store 'The Covid Murals' for use in a future historic exhibit, and at the same time managed to launch a popular online bodega and drive-thru liquor store which helped to supply over 500+ products to area customers including; toilet paper, fresh produce, dairy products and of course alcohol to thousands of Southern Nevadans in need. Derek is regularly featured by Las Vegas news organizations speaking to a variety of topics about Southern Nevada, but he has also been featured on national news programs and publications including the New York Times, CNN, Fox News Channel, NBC Nightly News, USA Today, Good Morning America and The Wall Street Journal. A cancer survivor - and lover of life, his city, and his wife - Derek and Dorian Stonebarger spend their time planning, strategizing, and working on ways to make Las Vegas a better place for everyone while spending most of their free time serving on several boards and practicing philanthropy through their recently created non-profit organization. Considering himself a jack of all trades, but a master of only some - Derek looks forward to eventually serving wholly in public service as an appointed or elected official, with a goal of creating positive change for the city he loves so dearly.
