Executive Director of Hope Center for the Arts (HOPE), a non profit, in Irvine, California. HOPE's focus is to provide the means and platforms for the artistic work of Visual and Performing Artists with Intellectual Disabilities to be seen as important contributors to a world of rich and varied arts communities. It is an honor to work, nurture, support and introduce to the broader arts industry the talents of this often overlooked - under rated group of Visual and Performing Artists. My background includes teaching art and exhibiting my work for over 25 years. I've shown internationally and have work in both private and public collections. I received my M.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2006 I started the Michele Vavonese Studio. Professional honors include: Citizen Community Leadership Award from City of Long Beach Councilmember Gabelich R.I.T. Alumni Board of Directors (1995 ~ present) Michele Vavonese Studio chosen for one of the top “Compassionate Businesses in California” by Animal Acres located in California
