About
Shara has been humbly named one of Forbes’ “30 under 30," Rolling Stone's "Future 25," and Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business.” Shara is a sophisticated dot-connector and respected entrepreneur, architecting visionary relationships and ventures in today's ever-changing entertainment industries. Shara partnered with music-mogul Scooter Braun, blockchain leader Ripple and industry vet Zach Katz to launch music/tech investment group, Raised In Space in 2019. She currently runs the fund day-to-day, while also building new ventures under Raised In Space's incubator arm, RISE Labs. Additionally, Shara manages music, creative and entertainment talent under her Something Gold banner. With a passion for Film and TV, Shara began her career as an intern for mogul producers Scott Rudin (The Social Network), Dan Jinks & Bruce Cohen (American Beauty) and Kevin Bright (Friends). She went on to climb the ranks in the film business where she grew to VP status at The Mark Gordon Company (Grey’s Anatomy, Saving Private Ryan) and developed a slate of 20+ feature films with Universal, DreamWorks, 20th Century Fox, Sony, Paramount and more. In 2009, Shara paved innovation by creating and architecting Mark Gordon's initial digital department to leverage technology, the social dynamics of the web and the company’s expertise in storytelling to develop new properties with cross platform capabilities. Through this self-generated digital/startup incubator, Shara launched startup Career Sushi (formerly Intern Sushi), an innovative platform that reinvented the way interns, entry & mid-level candidates apply to internships and jobs. The site was acquired in 2015. Career Sushi hosted 25,000 hiring companies and 1M+ internship/job candidates, placing over 25,000 interns in life-changing internships. Shara went on to leverage her unique entertainment and storytelling experience to launch innovation engine, Something Gold. Through this venture Shara manages talent, architects strategic marketing/experiential campaigns and creative/business ventures for clients in fashion, music and advertising. Shara's client roster includes Capitol Records, Atlantic Records, RCA, Spotify, Wunderman, Post Malone, Charlie Puth, Katy Perry, L'Oreal and many more.

Even if you're feeling video call burnout, there are ways to motivate yourself to connect in the digital world. With the pandemic still ongoing, it’s difficult to know when the world will return to “normal" and in-person networking can resume. Until then, many professionals will remain working — and connecting — fully remotely, which can lead to the dreaded burnout known as "Zoom fatigue." In this distant environment, finding the motivation to forge connections day after day can be a monumental task. To help, a panel of Rolling Stone Culture Council members shared a few networking strategies that have worked well for them when they’re not in the mood to connect.
