Derek Walin is recognized as one of the premier private event DJs globally, regularly providing the soundtrack for the world’s leading brands, and gracing celebrity weddings from Miami Beach to the South of France with his signature open format style. Derek’s journey began at the age of thirteen when he secured a spot with a renowned DJ company. His early years were dedicated to DJing private events nationwide, eventually playing hundreds of events in his teens, mastering genres from disco and funk to classic house and hip-hop, and learning to keep crowds from every generation and all walks of life dancing til the wee hours. After continuing to hone his craft in college bars and clubs while studying Audio Engineering and Music Business, Derek moved to Miami, quickly becoming a staple in its competitive nightlife scene. He held residencies at iconic clubs like LIV at the Fontainebleau, where he opened for A-list DJs and played for an elite clientele. Today, as the co-founder of Super Music Group & Dream Machine Ent., Derek not only manages some of the industry's most innovative artists but also continues to set the standard in private event entertainment, traveling the world to bring his high energy DJ sets customized to each client with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences.
