Using my background in Synthetic and Analytical Chemistry, my goal is to bring the cannabis industry into the mainstream through standardization and better understanding of this powerful medicine. I am actively involved in groups and organizations who are pushing to develop national quality standards for cannabis including the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) Cannabis Expert Panel, AOAC International Cannabis Working Group and a founding member of the CASP committee, the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) cannabis committee, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cannabis working groups, and the American Chemical Society (ACS) Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision, as well as other cannabis, hemp, and chemical trade association committees. I also serve as the President of the Pacific Southwest division of the AOAC. I have presented at various technical and cannabis conferences and events including the Harvard Medical School, the American Chemical Society Annual Meeting, the AOAC Annual Meeting, The Emerald Cup, MJ BizCon, and many more. I have been published in several technical and trade publications including the Journal of Natural Products and Skunk Magazine. Technical Specialties: Analytical Techniques for Cannabis Testing (Cannabinoid Quant., Pesticide Residue, etc.) Instruments include, HPLC -UV, HPLC - FLD, LC/MS, GC/MS, GC(Asst. Detectors), HNMR, CNMR, SiNMR, SEM, STEM. In 2010, I co-founded SC Labs with my partners to ensure safe access to medical patients.
